If you're constantly uploading videos that are getting less than 500 views, here are some common mistakes you might be making.
I'm going to give you five reasons why your videos are not being pushed by the algorithm, and hopefully, this will help you the next time you post a new video on Youtube.
So let's just get straight into it now.
Reason 1: Algorithm Doesn't Find the Right Audience
The first reason your videos aren't getting views could be because the algorithm simply hasn't found the right audience for your content yet. Now, when you have a new or small channel, the algorithm's role is to push your videos out to a large group of people with the aim of finding the right audience for your content. If you don't have many subscribers yet when you first start out, all of your videos will be pushed out by the algorithm as a way of YouTube suggesting your content to new viewers in the hope that those new viewers will be interested in your videos.
If you don't get many clicks, the algorithm will simply stop pushing your videos out. However, if many people do click and watch your video, the algorithm will keep recommending your video to more and more people. It really is as simple as that. The algorithm will try its best to find the right audience for your content, but it's not an easy task, and it can take a long time.
If you want to help the algorithm find the right audience quicker so you can get more views, you need to improve things like your title and thumbnail and also include a lot of SEO relevant to your niche and target audience.

Reason 2: Account Age Could Be a Factor
The second reason your videos aren't getting views could be due to the age of your account.
Now, I need to ask: how old is your account?
If you’ve not long created a brand new channel and you started uploading videos straight away, there’s a very small chance that those videos will be pushed out by the algorithm. This is annoying, I know, because we want to get started as soon as possible, but for some reason, YouTube might think you're a bot if you're a brand new channel and you randomly start spamming uploads, so it might not push your videos out at first.
So, if you're brand new to YouTube and you want to start uploading videos, please use an account that's already been set up and active. This will significantly impact how many views you get at the start.

Reason 3: Prioritizing Quantity Over Quality
The next mistake I see all too often is new channels prioritizing quantity over quality. Many new creators fall into the trap of trying to get as many views and subscribers as possible way too quickly. So, what they'll do is prioritize quantity over quality, which sounds like a good idea when you're new, but this could really be hurting your channel.
Of course, consistently uploading is important for growing your channel, but sacrificing the quality of your content can lead to less views, less audience retention, and a damaged reputation. That's because if a new viewer watches a really poor-quality video from your channel, they are definitely not going to come back and watch any of your other stuff. High-quality content that offers real value is much more likely to become successful on YouTube.
So, instead of banging out loads of average videos, focus on producing a few well-researched, thoughtfully edited, and visually appealing videos that will really resonate with your target audience.

Reason 4: Not Engaging with Your Viewers
The next critical mistake many new YouTubers make is not actively engaging with their viewers. If people comment on your videos and you ignore them, you miss the opportunity to build a deep connection with your audience. Responding to comments and engaging in conversation in the comment section really helps to build a strong community and also encourages your viewers to come back and watch more of your content. But not only that, it also helps massively with your algorithm rating. The more comments you have on your video, the more engagement shows the algorithm.
Let's say you have 10 comments from different viewers on your new video. If you reply to each and every one of those, you’ll now double that to 20 comments, which will signal to the algorithm that your video is doing really well for engagement, and that's exactly what we want.

Reason 5: Missing the Algorithm
The last reason on this list is that your videos simply might just be missing the algorithm. But what do I mean by that? Well, the YouTube algorithm isn't perfect. It obviously does the best job it can, but at the end of the day, it’s still just a machine, and it does make mistakes. This means that in rare cases, newly posted videos can just completely miss being pushed by the algorithm. It happens to more people than you realize. It's really annoying, but it's not something to be worried about.
So, if you're posting on a small channel and your video doesn’t get 100 views despite being a good video, it honestly just means that it might not have reached the algorithm. This has happened to me a fair few times, especially when I started new channels, so don't freak out. A simple trick you can do is just delete the video if it hasn’t budged in two days and then re-upload it with a slightly different title and thumbnail on a different day and simply just try again.
