Chrome's RAM Saver: A Simple Solution

Chrome's RAM Saver: A Simple Solution

Chrome Show Memory Usage Per Tab On Hover

Google Chrome is one famous web browser but is also famous for consuming computer RAM. Google developers are still trying to find solutions and making more update to fix this issue but a new feature from Google has helped a lot.

With the latest beta version released by Google, users can now just hover or move the mouse to a each tab and know the amount of RAM used.

At first, you would have to use task manager or Chrome Task Manager to see the amount of RAM being used. But a report from Windows Central has made the new feature a relieve to this RAM usage issue.

It was first posted and shared on Twitter (X) by Leopeva64.

Perhaps, since we have an indicator to help us identify the amount of RAM used by a particular Chrome tab and also helping us to clear unwanted tabs has help us a lot.

When memory or RAM is used extensively, it causes the computer to freeze but this new feature displays to its users the amount of RAM used by a tab whilst working for a longer period of time.

Google is still testing this feature but users using version 117 or the latest version may get access to it.

You can enable this feature by typing Chrome://flags into the address bar and search for Show Memory Usage in hovercards then enable it. You would have to also restart the browser.

Currently, I have noticed Google is testing a new feature that would help to organize tabs on Chrome. You will be able to organize tabs and let you rearrange and rename the tabs as groups.

Regards!
